St Patrick's Day

Naturally I am looking forward to St Patrick's Day because it is the next holiday on the calendar that I can celebrate. In our house, every year the leprechaun comes to visit. Bryce really gets into this and even tries to set traps for the little guy. Last year he even made a "leprechaun house" to try to lure him in.. so cute. Also, Bryce offered a free breakfast .. double win for the leprechaun.

I usually will buy some of the rainbow streamer from party city and put that all over the downstairs and put some fake gold coins around.. that may have to change this year due to them being a choking hazard for Everett . I The Leprechaun leaves a few little trinkets for the boys and it starts the day off with a fun tone! What the leprechaun left last year:

We also celebrate with a traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner (recipe coming soon) that Matt brines himself and it is so yummy! What do you do for St Patrick's Day in your house?

Everett's 1st Birthday

Speaking of over the top parties... I wanted to do a post on Everett's 1st Birthday. I had previously been in the camp of "oh they won't remember their 1st birthday, why have a big party?" Hah. The thing is that I knew WE would remember and honestly with all of the curve-balls our little E threw at us in his first year, Matt and I wanted to celebrate our survival through extreme sleep deprivation and colic as much as we wanted to celebrate Everett's first birthday!

I struggled to come up with a theme because let's be honest, most 1 year old's don't have a super favorite anything other than yogimelts and cheerios. So Everett's next favorite thing was his blanket he sleeps with every night that we affectionately call "lovie" . Lovie is a blanket with the goodnight moon rabbit on it. We I decided that the perfect theme would be goodnight moon and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out! It was a wonderful day and I know Everett had a blast! We had the amazing Lindsey Lingenfelter from Linden Tree Photography take pictures of the day and she captured some of the sweetest moments !
